ABSTRACT OF LETTER FOR THE GRANT OF COMPUTER ALLOWANCE:

GRANT OF COMPUTER ALLOWANCE TO COMPUTER PERSONNEL:
I am directed to refer to this Department’s letter dated 22/9/1986 on the subject noted above and to say that the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to decide that with effect from 1st July, 1988 the existing rate of Computer Allowance of Rs. 500/- per month will be enhanced to Rs. 1000/-p.m.
The Government of the Punjab is further pleased to allow Computer Allowance Rs. 300/- p.m. to Key Punch Operator Key Punch Verifying Operators /D Data Entery Operators w.e.f. 1/7/1988.
Other existing terms and conditions regulating the grant of Computer Allowance would remain unchanged.

I am directed to state that the Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to sanction Computer Allowance Rs. 500/- p.m to the prescribed categories of computer personnel who are actually employed on whole time basis on computer work in the Government Department and other Government organization irrespective of the fact whether main frame computer is available or not in their organization provided they posses the minimum educational qualification, as given below:-
The above allowance would replace any allowance or Special Pay at present admissible to the above categories of computer personnel.
This order will take effect from 1/9/1986.
U.O.NO.FD-SR-1-9-2/2000 (Vol-I) DATED 18/3/2008 GOVT. OF THE PUNJAB FINANCE DEPARTMENT:
GRANT OF COMPUTER ALLOWANCE TO STENOGRAPHERS IN ZAKAT & USHR DEPARTMENT:
Will the Under Secretary (Estt) Government of the Punjab Zakat & Ushr Department, kindly refer to his letter No. SO(E)Z&U/8-47/08/216 dated 22/2/2008 on the subject noted above.
The matter has been examined in the Finance Department. It has been observed that Stenographers / Computer Operators appointed in the Punjab Zakat and Usher Department irrespective of the fact whether on contract or on regular basis, are entitled for Computer Allowance @ Rs. 450/- per month subject to the conditions mentioned in Finance Department’s letter NO> FD.SR-1-9-2/2000-1 dated 11/12/2002. It is further clarified that Computer Allowance enhanced from Rs. 450/- per month to Rs. 750/- per month vide Finance Department letter No. FD-SR-1/28-1/2003 dated 27/12/2004 is only admissible to Key Punch Operator /Key Punch Verifying Operators /Data Entery Operators and not to the Stenographers / Computer Operators of the Punjab Zakat & Usher Department.
REVISION OF PAY SCALE NOTIFICATION FD-PC-2-1/2001 DATED 22/10/2001
Computer Allowance:
The Computer Allowance shall be increased subject to the existing conditions of admissibility as under:-

I am directed tio refer to para-14 of this Department letter No. FD.PC-2-1/2001 Dated 22/10/2001, on the above-mentioned subject and to say that Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to approve that Computer Allowance presently admissible to Key Punch Operators/ Key Punch Verifying Operators/Data Entery Operators at rate of Rs. 450/- per month may be enhanced to Rs. 750/- per month with immediate effect. Other terms & conditions for grant of this allowance will remain unchanged.
Expenditure involved will be met out of the existing budget of the Departments concerned.
- SO.A-II (LG)1-1/2007 FD/SR.1/28-1–2003 GOVT. OF THE PUNJAB LOCAL GOVERNMENT & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT DATED 31/3/2007:
GRANT OF COMPUTER ALLOWANCE TO COMPUTER PERSONNEL
I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to state that competent authority has approved adoption of Finance Department’s letter No. FD.SR-1/28-1/2003 dated 27/12/2004, for grant of Computer Allowance for the employees of erstwhile Local Councils now working in District Government / TMAs /Union Administrations as Key Punch Operator / Key Punch Verifying Operators / Data Entery Operators at the rate of 750/- per month with immediate effect. Other terms & conditions for grant of this allowance vide Finance Department letter No. FD.PC.2-1/2001 dated 22/10/2002 will remain unchanged.
Expenditure involved will be met out of the existing budget of the concerned local government.
