AMENDMENT

In the said Rules, in Rule 4:

  • In clause (a) for the figure 6000/- & 8000/-, wherever occur the figure 15000/- & 20000/- shall respectively be substituted, and
  • In Clause (c), after the existing proviso, the following new proviso shall be added:

“Provided further that each child who secures at least 90% marks in any examination in Matriculation or above, shall be granted a special scholarship of Rs.50000/- per annum in lieu of the scholarship admissible under this clause”.

 OMBUDSMAN Decision About BS-16 for B.F. Grants Authentic by Governor of Punjab

The Governor after examining the record of the case, has observed that no infirmity in orders of the Ombudsman has been pointed out. It is observed that the Finance Department vide letter No. FD.PC.40-80/2015 (1065/19) Dated 31-01-2020, clearly mentioned as below.

“Government servants who are drawing their pay & allowances in BS-1 to BS-15 are “OFFICIALS” and those who are drawing their pay & allowances BS-16 and above are “OFFICERS” irrespective of the mode through which they have been granted the respective pay scales”

FAMILY DEFINITION UNDER BENEVOLENT FUND RULES

1 (a)               In the case of male employee, the wife or wives and in the case of a female employee, the husband of the employee, and
2 2(a) “Family” in relation to a government servants means his or her:-
3 i)                    Wife or wives or husband, as the case may be;
4 ii)                  Legitimate children and step children less than twelve years old;
5 iii)                Legitimate children and step children not less than twelve years old, if residing with wholly dependent upon him or her; and
6 iv)                Parents, sisters and minor brothers, if residing with and wholly dependant upon him or her”
7 (a) If a Government Servant dies during service within 15-years after his retirement, his widow shall be entitled till her death to a monthly grant at the rate already prescribed in this behalf.
8 (b)               In case of death of an invalid retired Government servant, the monthly grant may be transferred in the name of his widow for rest of her life.
9 (c)                In case of death of a widow, the monthly grant may be transferred in the name of the dependant minor family member up to the age of maturity.”
10 This shall be applicable to those servants as well who are already receiving the monthly grant”.
